When should I use a civil search?
When an individual has been extremely difficult to locate, a civil search provides records on any non-criminal litigation. This is great for finding individuals where other skip tracing products have failed.

How does this search work?
The (CTY)County Civil search is a manual search that gets sent to a field of over 5,000 court researchers. These researchers access county-level civil records to report any foreclosures, defaults on loans, disputed contracts, evictions or small claims filed in the upper courts. Manual search products are made available under Additional Data Sources and may be used in conjunction with multiple products. When selecting a manual search, a confirmation screen will pop-up to verify the request due to the higher cost.

What is an upper court?
An upper court usually handles the serious civil cases or cases of higher monetary value.

What is a lower court?
The lower court usually only handles minor civil cases or less important small claims.
